I recieved this picture and really thought it worth discussing. well not the picture exactly but the situation in Gaza.
Now generally speaking i'm not in favor of giving up land that was righfully won in a war however, when giving up said land means the difference between suicide bombers and no suicide bombers in israel, i'm going to have to go with GIVE UP THE LAND!!! It's a stretch of dirt that doesnt have any religious siginificance (that i know of). I'd have a lot bigger issue with giving up the west bank, but gaza is not the west bank.
There are loads of protesters down in a town called Gush Katif in the Gaza Strip and what i find most poigniant about the picture is that really... what's the difference between the Israelis who are fighting to keep the land and the Israelis who are sent to insure that the hand over goes smoothly? So the picture above is a photo of Chayalim (IDF soldiers) and protesters davening mincha separated by a fence... and an ideal... but not much else. After all, we're all Jews.
