stupidity at the post office

I went to the post office this afternoon to buy some 2¢ stamps so that my 37¢ stamps can be used now that the rate hike has been instituted. Apparently everybody else is buying 2¢ stamps because there was a girl in front of me who walked up to the counter and asked for 40 2¢ stamps. and then she asked "So how much is that?" the guy behind the counter looked at her for a moment and then said "uh... 80¢." No child left behind at it's best!!
