ok... so i wanted to wait a bit till my friend's had had a chance to see the movie before i started discussing it in detail. I'll do my best not to spoil but to talk around the details... if you don't want to be spoiled here's a picture or two to buffer you from the rest of the post. :) enjoy!!!

the Teaser Trailer Poster and Harry Potter outside Dumbledore's Office
So what did you all think?? i know there are purists who get upset if ANYTHING is cut but let's be realistic people, it's a 734-page book. lol! All thinks considered i thought it was fantastic! i was not at all disappointed by any of the triwizard tasks nor the graveyard scene and good old voldemort... not very "scary" to look at but exuding just the right amount of vile evilness to make him as frightening as voldemort SHOULD be.
I must say Dan Radcliffe and the gang have grown up... emensely and it's showing in their acting ability and appreance. seriously nice looking people, including but not limited to Robert Pattinson who plays Cedric Diggory. I heard audible gasping around me when he first showed up on screen. he's a good looking boy. but of course... he's no Harry Potter.
Favorite scenes?
For action: the first task. the dragons! It was GOOOD. action packed. cool stunts. realistic dragon.
For fun: the bath scene. Moaning myrtle is SHAMELESS, she's pretty excited to be seeing ALOT more of Harry. He has a fine time stragetically placing bubbles too. it was REALLY funny.
Emotional-ness: The graveyard... oh man! i cried. i'm so glad they kept in key lines from the book. "Kill the spare" and "my wand, wormtail" (SPOILER ALERT:) i found it very emotionally draining to watch cedric's death, how he just fell. and his eyes were still opened and then when voldemort get's his body back he walks over to cedric and steps on his face. oh it was awful! Dan's acting has much much much improved, not that he was every "bad" but you know... he was a kid. The pain, the emotion when voldemort touches him. the torture when he's hit with Crucio. oh it was hard to watch, even though i know how it ends. And then when the wands backfire with Priore Incantatum and Harry's parents show up and Cedric says "take my body back, will you?" And he takes his body back and they land in the stadium and everybody's cheering!!!! and harry is laying across cedric's body and the crowd one by one realizes that something is wrong. and dumbledore tries to pull harry off of cedric and he cries "no". oh, it broke my heart!
OK. just had to get that off my chest.
I hesitate to say it's the best since the first one was so wonderful with the magic of the world and harry finding out he's a wizard and everything. But this one was REALLY good. the story has matured (obviously). the kids and their acting abilities have matured (again, obviously). the storyline was TIGHT and very fast-paced. It rarely wanders and i found that the things that were left out, i didnt miss all that much. There were little things that bother me now that i step back from the theater experience, but eh, it's small stuff compared to the issues i had with the 3rd movie. maybe i'll rant about those later. but for now... i'm done gushing.
