My alarm goes off at 7am but i like to snooze and watch tv for a while sometimes. anyway... at 7:30 this morning i got a happy phone call from Laura informing me that Israel had won it's first ever gold medal yesterday! After having a conversation at shabbos lunch last week about how great it'll be when israel wins a gold someday; to watch our flag raise overhead; to hear hatikvah played. who knew it would happen only 5 days down the road!?
So Arik sent me a link to a video clip of the medal ceremony. can i tell you, it was like the best thing i've seen in a loooooooong time. i was sitting at my desk crying!! go see it...

so i decided to pop in my Natalie Cole tape on the drive home from work. (yes i said tape) And it reminded me of how much i love jazz and those old standards. so once i got home i did a search and i'm listening to some great stuff. nat king cole trio and ella fitzgerald's Stormy Weather. They just don't make music like this anymore. that sounds like such an old person thing to say... but it's true. i was just thinking about how timeless her voice is... and great she still is decades later. Nat King Cole, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Leana Horne so much talent! it's crazy!

so i'm reading the da vinci code and i can't put it down. if you havent read it, i highly recommend it.
my back feels ok... alittle tender at times. hopefully tomorrow the stings will go bye bye. i hate bees!
i'm very happy to report that after 2 nights of reading in my bedroom by flashlight and then by candle light i remembered that my father had spent 10 minutes in the lightbulb aisle at home depot finding me the "perfect" lightbulbs the weekend that i moved. i'm an idiot! so... as hashem said on yom echad... let there be light... and there was light... and it was good... and paula could read the da vinci code in bed! yay!!!
i love the days decathelon on soapnet and i love the olympics, but i'm missing my lumi! i think tomorrow is bryan's pick so that should be fun. i MISS MY LUMI!!!
it's 10:34 now and i'm tired. think i'll go read alittle mor and then conk out.

so everything was going ok until i went out to lunch. i was sitting on a bench reading the da vinci code when i leaned back on the bench and pissed off a bee who was hanging out there. it stung me.... TWICE! fucker!
now i'm watching fraiser and waiting to hear if i have dinner plans tonight with some friends or not.
